Known as Ishtar to the Babylonians, Akkadians, and Assyrians, but originally worshipped as Inanna by the ancient Sumerians, this goddess like most deities has been known for various things throughout history. Often seen as a goddess of Sexuality and love, her correspondence with the planet Venus is fitting, that being said she is not one to be put into one box. Ishtar is also known as a deity of war, justice, political power and even has chthonic associations due to a myth regarding her descent into the underworld.
