Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, is a goddess within the Greek pantheon associated with the underworld, grain, vegetation, and spring. She is most well-known from the myth detailing her abduction to the underworld by Hades, the god of the underworld, eventually leading to her spending half of her time in the underworld which brings the winter months and her return to the surface bringing springtime.
