About Jet:

Jet is a type of lignite, the lowest rank of coal, and is a deep black gemstone. The term “jet-black” comes from this mineraloid’s rich, dark appearance. Jet is a product of decomposition and fossilization of wood from millions of years ago. It has an unusual quality in which it becomes electrically charged when rubbed. Sometimes called Witch’s Amber or Black Amber, this stone has a long history of magical and sacred use, even theorized to extend into prehistoric times. It is believed to bring good luck and protection.

This stone is a rich pure black with a glass-like surface.
