Isis is a major goddess in ancient Egyptian religion whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. Isis is first mentioned in the Old Kingdom as one of the main players in the myth of Osiris, in which she resurrected her slain brother and husband the divine king Osiris. She produces and protects his heir Horus. She is believed to help the dead enter the afterlife as she had helped Osiris. Her maternal aid is invoked in healing spells to benefit ordinary people. She originally played a limited role in royal rituals and temple rites though she was prominent in funerary practices and magical texts. During the New Kingdom, she is portrayed as a woman wearing Hathor's solar disk and cow's horns as a headdress as she took on the traits of Hathor (music, dance, joy, love, sexuality, and maternal care).

This cold cast resin sculpture of Isis measures 1 3/4" X 1" X 2 3/4".
