About Calcite:
Sometimes called Iceland Spar, Calcite is a carbonate mineral that appears in a variety of colors. We carry the orange variety in our store. Orange calcite is said to be a protective stone that can lend additional energy to the body when held. Calcite has a unique optical quality of double refraction, and due to this visual effect it is attributed to have the ability to “double the power” of any rite it is included in. Some practitioners keep Calcite on their altar or on their person during ritual for this purpose.
The Orange Calcite we carry is a waxy, pale orange color with a pitted surface.
This potent stone is said to be useful in strengthening communication, especially of intent in any spellwork and ritual, as well as guarding, making it a particularly excellent stone for uncrossing and hex work.
