About Apache Tears:

Named for a tragic legend of the Apache tribe, Apache Tears are rounded pebbles of obsidian composed of dark-colored natural volcanic glass. They are often carried as good luck charms as they are believed to have highly protective qualities.

These stones are black or dark-colored in appearance and often bear unique indented surfaces.

Though obsidian is typically translucent, Apache Tears may appear opaque in reflected due to internal inclusions. Interestingly, they may be translucent in transmitted light.

Like all Obsidian varieties, Apache Tears are grounding stones said to protect, center, and balance. Its ability to neutralize emotions and bring things back to center makes it an excellent stone for divination, visualization, mediation, and reflection.
